UNDP & IT Ministry Collaborate to Equip The Youth With Digital Skills

Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication collaborated with the United Nations Development Program in different areas of activity.
Syed Amin Ul Haque , Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication chaired a meeting about the collaboration.
Ignacio Artaza , UNDP Representative in Pakistan, and Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Federal Secretary MoITT were present in the meeting. They discussed the matters related to information technology and digitalization.
Ignacio Artaza briefed the Federal Minister about the functions and working of UNDP.
Federal Minister said that UNDP is a trusted partner. The Ministry and UNDP will continue to cooperate in different areas.
The minister witnessed the exchange of letters between Federal Secretary MoITT and UNDP Representative in Pakistan.
The UNDP and Ministry will work together to equip the youth with digital skills. Connect them to the national and international markets.
Both sides showed a willingness to explore activities that contribute to the integration and implementation of Digital Pakistan Vision, National Digital Transformation, as well as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
UNDP and the Ministry of IT will work together for creating a skilled digital workforce and promoting operational and institutional digitization of various institutions to enhance service delivery.
A strategy will be devised for promoting startups in the IT industry through business incubation centers and innovation hubs.
UNDP will assist in the development of digital technology solutions for combating natural disasters and pandemics. The UNDP representative commended Ministry of IT for its effective role to cope with coronavirus pandemic
