Design renders of next-generation PlayStation gaming console started making rounds on the internet.

The device looks like a night vision device from the future than a gaming console. An insider confirms that the renders were indicative of a device that Sony sent to developers. So that they can start creating content for the PlayStation 5 due to launch in 2020.

Only a few days after it was confirmed that the design concept leaked was indicative of the real PS5.
Sony is known for distributing hardware to developers to divert consumer attention and to fuel the hype. This could a publicity stunt and the real device may look nothing like the renders.

The leaks said that the reason behind the late release of the console was that AMD was slow to get ray tracing support on Navi. The console will have “the greatest compute jump in any console.” He did not reveal any of the specifications.

The CEO of Sony’s PlayStation revealed that the console will be dubbed, ‘PlayStation 5’. It will hit the shelved by the next holiday season. Lead System Architect Mark Cerny announced that the device will support ray tracing.

The game will be bundled on 100 GB optical disks. These discs will be read by the device’s Blue-ray player.
