As we know, the Pakistan government is fully focused to collect income tax. The government is taking all those steps to make the tax collection system easy. For this purpose, the government of Punjab has taken a step for the convenience of taxpayers. The government has planned to launch an application.
Now, the taxpayers can pay tax easily by using this application.
In a joint meeting of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and finance department, Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, who is the finance minister of Punjab has disclosed that the government of Punjab take all those steps to improve revenue generation and facilitate the citizens. So, taxpayers can easily pay taxes.
For this purpose, the government is planning to launch an application. This application is a mobile phone application for all public to government and business to government payments. It will ease the payment system for taxpayers.
Taxpayers can use three electronic payment channels:
- ATM
- over the counter (OTC)
- Mobile Banking

This tax payment system will beat the decades-old payment systems. The old tax payment systems involved physical presence in which people have to visit the collection office for tax payments. People have to stand in the queue and wait for hours. These systems encouraged corruption and bribery which make difficult to pay tax. It will be the great success of Punjab Government.
Advantages of application:
But with this application, the taxpayers will pay tax from their homes. They do not need to stand in a queue and wait for a long time. This new system will also reduce bribery and corruption cases. This system will generate a 17 digit unique PSID number which is used to pay necessary tax through mobile, ATM or bank.
This application would collect 12 different taxes of the Excise Department, Board of Revenue, PRA, Punjab Land Record Authority, and Industry Department.
These taxes include token tax, motor vehicle registration, transfer of a motor vehicle, property tax, cotton fee, professional tax, sales tax on services, mutation fee, and business registration fee.
The name of the application and date of the launch will be announced soon.
