Pakistan’s Awais Honey Wins His First International Tekken Tournament

Following the footsteps of Arsalan Ash’s footsteps, Pakistani Tekken player Awais Honey won the FV Cup 2019 tournament for Tekken, leaving many players in the dust.

FV Cup 2019 is a Tekken World Tour Challenger event with notable names on the list. FV Cup 2019 kicked off this weekend in Malaysia. Some of the top players in the event were Book, Jeondding, Nobi, Chanel, Knee and many more.

Awais Honey was a new face in the tournament that beat Knee in the grand final at FV Cup 2019. It was his first event that he attended outside of Pakistan.

He was sent to the losers bracket by Chikurin and often near the edge of elimination facing off against players like Nobi and Book.

Awais had to face his biggest challenger in the grand finals. He faced off against Knee in the grand finals, going toe to toe against one of the best players in the world. The games came to an end with Awais taking three wins in a series of rounds with a perfect to close things out.

There were two other Pakistani competitors in the Top 8 including Bilal and Khan. The international Tekken scene will need to keep an eye out for Pakistani talent. Especially with Arsalan Ash winning two consecutive Evo tournaments.
