Byte has graduated from Y-Combinator, raising $150,000 in the process. Byte is a Lahore-Based food delivery startup.

Y-Combinator is an American startup accelerator. Its headquarter is in Mountain View, California. It has launched 2000 startups including Dropbox, Twitch, Airbnb, and Reddit.

Byte was a part of the Y-Combinator’s summer 2020 batch. It is the first Pakistani consumer internet startup to have been backed by Y-Combinator.

Byte is aiming to make food delivery form dark kitchens, affordable, and accessible to everyone across Pakistan. Dark kitchens cook food only for delivery. Currently, Byte is operating at a limited scale in Lahore only.

Some famous food brands listed on Byte’s mobile application are Biryani Bowls, Smackin Fried’ Chicken, Flippin’ Hot Pizza, and Just Wing It.

Safe Shah, Byte’s founder has expressed optimism.
“The startup will make its mark in the country’s online food delivery space. It is dominated by local and international players such as Foodpanda, Cheetay, and Eat Mubarak.”
