Pakistan ranked 1 in providing affordable mobile data services

Every had a relative or a friend from abroad come live in Pakistan after a long time? There will be two
things they will think are really cool about Pakistan. 1. The inexpensive glasses (they usually get all the glasses made in Pakistan to take abroad with them) 2. Cheap calling rates. To keep the article in the context we will only discuss the second cool thing only.

The rates are lower as compared to other countries

In Pakistan, the telecommunication industry strives to provide lower and cheaper calling rates. This isn’t applied only to the national calls but also to the international calls. This facility is mostly because many of the Pakistani go abroad to find work leaving their families behind. The cellular companies just know the way how to exploit these facts for their own good. But these goods are for the customers as well in the form of reasonable rates.

The recent ranking

In the recent Report, ‘World Economic Forum’s Network Readiness Index Report’ Pakistan has been ranked first for most affordable mobile data service. The news was noted by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and announced in a press release. The overall list has a total of 139 countries. This is a huge achievement for Pakistan is the sector of telecommunication to be listed above many technologically developed countries.

The countries left behind

The report suggests that Pakistan has left behind India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the South Asian region, that have the ranking of 8th, 14th, and 35th respectively, for providing affordable mobile service.

In terms of other technology

According to the competitiveness Index Report by World Economic Forum (WEF), Pakistan is ahead of India, Bangladesh, and Iran in terms of availability of latest technologies and internet bandwidth. World Economic Forum establishes an authentic list and their data is recognized all over the World.

The reason behind these rates

The major reason behind these low rates is the multiple network providers and the competition among them. These companies compete with each other in providing better packages and call rates, messages packages as well as the data to increase their users. This is one of the major reason why these rates are very low.
