We have advanced to an age where technology is of primary importance to us. Be it office setting or home, technology has paved its way into everyday life. From the electric stove in your kitchen to televisions, every technology you have is becoming advanced day by day. For a better quality of life and keeping up our status, adapting this advancement is necessary.

WHAT ARE OLED’s?

OLED stands for ‘organic light-emitting diode’. OLED televisions are organic LED televisions and are the latest advancement in LED television screens. These screens have the illuminating screen made of an organic compound.
WHAT IS SO DIFFERENT IN THESE SCREENS?
These screens use the organic material to get illuminated, the pixels in LED screens use a single back-light to provide a display. While in OLED screens, each pixel is illuminated exclusively by the organic material. This gives us many advantages over using a simple LED screen.
There is no back-light in OLED screens as the material provides its own visible light on receiving electric current.

THINNER AND LIGHTER SCREENS

Because of no back-light used in these screens, these TVs are thinner and lighter in weight. This improves the aesthetic quality of the product.

HIGHER CONTRAST RATIO
Since every pixel is exclusively illuminated with its own visible light, it provides a higher contrast ratio and so a much better-quality display than LCDs and LEDs. Moreover, it provides a deeper black level in the picture.

NO GLASS REQUIRED

LEDs and LCDs require a glass which absorbs some of the light. This results in a less bright image which decreases the output quality of the television. OLED television screens, on the other hand, do not require any glass. This ultimately gives us a plus point and we get a better, brighter image.

LESS POWER CONSUMPTION

The best advantage is probably that these screens consume much lesser power because there is no back-light used in them.

WIDER VIEW RANGE

These screens project their own visible light, so the image produced on the screen provides a wide viewer range. While other screens block light due to the back-light and glass used in them, so they provide a narrower view range.

SHOULD YOU BUY THEM?

Certain answer is yes! If you are looking for a better-quality time with an aesthetic view then we suggest you go for it, but there are other technologies like 4k, 8k and VR displays which provide a whole another dimension to the viewer. So many brands introduced OLED display in latest TV screens like LG, Sony, Samsung and more as well. However, these technologies are way out of reach. So if you are looking for a better level than your regular LCDs and LEDs, this is a moderate option for you to choose.
