The current Govt. is taking many new initiatives to improve the overall economy of Pakistan.

This includes many new investments and budget allocation in the sector of Information
Technology. For an agricultural country, these new paths towards the betterment of technology
are appreciable. It depicts the government’s investment in the sector of technology. Moreover,
it indicates that the importance of improvements in this sector is finally recognized by the
Government.
The Technology Park
The govt. has announced the launch of this park in the federal capital, Islamabad. The park will
be opened in collaboration with COMSATS. Both the Minister and the Rector of COMSATS have
shared their positive views about this initiative. The need for this Park was also highlighted. If
Arfa Karim were alive, this would have been her dream come true. The late Microsoft certified
young talent had a lot of dreams for Pakistan related to IT.
Budget
The budget of 50 million has been allocated to turn this idea to reality. In rector’s words, the
project will be started as soon as the completion of the feasibility report.
Facilities
Dr. Raheel Qamar, the rector of COMSATS stated that this innovative Park will be equipped with
all sorts of latest technology needed to make through. It will impart a great deal of IT
knowledge among the students. It will also be helpful in the education sector. He added that
the students will be able to conduct a wide range of research in this field by utilizes the latest
and up-to-date facilities provided. These researches were not previously possible due to the
lack and absence of such tech-innovation.

Advantages
This launch will develop the spirit of entrepreneurship among young adults. More job
opportunities will be available for youth to participate in the streamline of the country’s
economy. This will also give the added advantage of improvement of the country’s economy.
Pakistan will become self-sufficient and import of innovations will no longer be needed by the
nation.
