Now, iPhone users will be able to secure their Messenger app through Face ID or Touch ID.
Messenger app is about to get a security update on iOS soon.

As the Facebook-owned WhatsApp feature fingerprint unlocking. So this update does not come as a surprise. WhatsApp allows the users to lock the app as soon as they close it. Maybe a similar option will be added to the Facebook Messenger app as well.

Currently, Facebook internally tests this feature. The social network giant says that it should roll out to the masses soon.

The feature will likely not secure individual chats but it does add an extra layer of security to your private conversations. The user face ID will not be transmitted or stored by the company.

“We want to give people more choices and controls to protect their private messages, and recently, we began testing a feature that lets you unlock the Messenger app using your device’s settings. It’s an added layer of privacy to prevent someone else from accessing your messages.

There is no idea when Facebook is planning to roll out the feature. We will update this space as soon as there is an official world.
