After the birth of Netflix, many companies are trying out to introduce similar streaming services. Hulu is one of the examples. There were a lot of talks and common views about the unavailability of many Disney classics on Netflix. Turn out Disney has something big planned for all the fans and viewers. The company is set to launch its very own streaming service under the name of Disney+. The competition is all set for Netflix. The new service will complement HULU as 68% of rights belong to Disney.

The launch Date and Price

According to the recent new Disney is set to make the debut in the fall of 2019 which isn’t very far considering the tech timeline. The exact launch date has not yet been announced. No information has yet been revealed about the pricing and the packages. Bob Iger, the CEO quotes that “I can say that our plan on the Disney side is to price this substantially below where Netflix is. That is in part reflective of the fact that it will have substantially less volume.”

Channels

The streaming service will offer the five major channels under which the shows and movies will be strategically categorized. These channels include Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic.

What will be available for streaming?

The Disney service will start with around 500 films from the Disney library, “as well as” around 7,000 episodes of Disney TV fare.

Iger states that the service “will have the entire output of the studio, animation, live action at Disney,
including Pixar, Star Wars and all the Marvel films.”

What’s new and what else is offered?

The words suggest that the company will start new franchises which will include new movies as well as the series. They will mostly be related to Loki which is Tom Hiddleton’s character and the Star Wars series. The Disney isn’t going to stop just there. To offer the user that there are paying for justly. Disney is going to buys right to have a few others show on their streaming service. This will expand the spectrum of the movies to watch. Moreover, it will be helpful against the competitor which in this case is Netflix.
