What is a 5G?
5G is a faster way for communicating through mobile networking. It is faster than 4G (LTE). It will provide us with the ultimate speed we want. It uses special radio frequency that will make our internet surfing faster than ever! Also, 4G used more power but this case is not true for 5G networking. So there will be a less waste of energy and power in 5G technology. The speed of the internet is 58 times faster than the ordinary WiFi coming into your home.
What are the benefits of 5G?
The next generation 5G technology will allow people to download data in seconds. It will be a special tool to connect billions of internet users and devices as well as help realize the dream of smart cities and provide vital support to the plan of bringing driverless cars to roads. Communication will be improved.
Emergency situations that require uninterrupted and reliable internet speed will be benefitted from the speed. There will be a great profit for mobile industries as more companies will launch 5G technology friendly tools for users.
Position of Pakistan in 5G technology
In the recent times, South Korea is the only country that claims to launch the first 5G tech in the market. However, in September 2018, Information technology and Telecommunications Minister announced that we are going towards a developmental age and we will be the first South Asian country to launch the 5G technology. Pakistan is also expecting that the technology will be launched next year, 2020.
Promising networks offering 5G
Huawei is recently reported to work on enabling 5G devices in Pakistan. Nokia recently announced that it will invest $3.5 Billion in the 5G network gears. T-mobile, Verizon and other US mobile network companies are racing for developing and launching the technology as soon as possible. However, Huawei from China is working on enabling the technology as well.
Do you need to buy a new phone for 5G?
Verizon, AT&T, Sprint have promised 5G devices for the first half of 2019, while T-Mobile says a nationwide network will launch in 2020. 5G will offer faster data and longer battery life. But network availability will be limited in 2019, and Apple's iPhone may not support it until 2020. Plus, you might not need faster 5G based on the way you use your phone today. However, we do not recommend that there is a sudden need to buy 5G phones this year.
